Centre Manager

The Centre Manager is a key member of ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ Cities’ senior management team, working closely with and reporting directly to the Executive Director. The post holder will play a critical role in shaping the development and strategic direction of ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ Cities. They will have operational and administrative responsibility for finance, human resources, procurement, space, facilities, future funding applications, administration, and events organisation. They will oversee the relationship with important stakeholders, including the Advisory Board, Governing Board, and Management Committee.

The Centre Manager will act as the main administrative interface between the Centre and external institutions, funding bodies, and government agencies, as well as administrative bodies, Research Centres, Departments, and Divisions across the School. The Manager has direct responsibility for the management of centre-wide Professional Services Staff (PSS) team and also has overall responsibility for all HR processes relating to staff and visitors, including academic, research, and policy staff.

Candidates should have substantial relevant administrative experience, preferably in Higher Education and have demonstrable team leadership and staff line management experience. Candidates should also have substantial experience with budget management and planning as well as experience of organising, managing and delivering public events.

ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ Cities Student and Professional Development Manager

The European City Leadership Initiative (ECLI), is a pioneering program to help mayors and their teams across the continent strengthen leadership skills, drive public sector innovation, and tackle complex urban challenges to deliver tangible results for residents in new ways.

This role will lead the development and cultivation of a thriving ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ Cities / ECLI student and professional community. The postholder will drive student and professionals interest, engagement and achievement from initial outreach through to their transition as ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ Cities alumni.

A central priority of this role is to spearhead the student component of ECLI, launching in July 2025. This new position will be instrumental in developing and delivering innovative attraction, recruitment, and engagement strategies, ensuring a seamless journey for applicants and students across key ECLI elements, including; Executive MSc in Cities (EMC) Scholarship, new PhD Studentship, Capstone Projects, ECLI Student Modules, City Hall Fellowships and ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ Cities Residency Fellowship.

Candidates should have experience of working in events management, or a similar field and working in a student-facing role, within a Higher Education environment. They should have experience of planning, managing and delivering student events plus the ability to define and deliver an excellent student experience. Candidates should also be able to tailor communication to a range of stakeholders and communicate confidently and effectively at all levels.
