African Political Economy


The ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ African Political Economy Group exists to provide research-focused interaction around issues of African politics, and to encourage engagement between ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ and top international scholars in African politics.

African Political Economy Seminar Series:

Our regular seminars are a forum for members to present working papers, and for a discussion of new research in the field. These seminars are open to all faculty, fellows, and PhD students working on issues of African politics, or related development or political economy issues. The group also jointly hosts a yearly Working Group on African Political Economy, which is an all-day conference for the discussion of ongoing research in African politics and political economy by UK and EU scholars.

Seminars of the African Political Economy Group will be held on Thursdays for members of the ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ community and also available online via zoom. Members will receive access details in advance of meetings.
