Dina Rabie is a behavioural/experimental economist who is currently a Visiting Fellow at the Department of Management, London School of Economics and Political Science, and an Assistant Professor in Economics at Northeastern University London. Dr. Rabie is the Scientific Advisor and Co-founder of the (EBEL) at the British University in Egypt (BUE); a unique laboratory in the Arabic-speaking Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region founded in cooperation with the of the University of Hamburg (UHH) in 2018. Dr. Rabie is the organizer of the series.
Dr. Rabie's research focuses on understanding the individual decision-making process, and how differences in cultures and institutions may influence individual behaviour. To address these questions, Dr. Rabie conducts both fundamental research in economics, and behavioural research at the intersection of economics and psychology, providing new applications to standing economic theories and building on theoretical insights from the psychology literature. In her research, Dr. Rabie employs students and non-students subjects pools and collaborates on multiple multi-country research projects.
Dr. Rabie is a team member in the European Research Council project "The Cultural Logic of Honour and Social Interaction: A Cross-Cultural Comparison ()", PI: Prof. Ayse Uskul, University of Sussex. Dr. Rabie also contributed to , University of Hamburg (UHH), throughout her visiting research positions at the Institute of Law and Economics, UHH, from 2015 to 2022.
Dr. Rabie obtained her PhD degree in Economics from the University of Hamburg, Germany, in May 2021. She held the positions of a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Economics at the British University in Egypt in 2021-22 and Assistant Lecturer in Economics at the same University from 2013 to 2021. Dr. Rabie held the position of a Research Fellow and the Experimental Laboratory Manager at Nottingham Trent University Business School from February 2022 to September 2023.
