Shana founded Tinamitra Mandiri Group in 2010, a social enterprise focused on carbon reduction and sustainability initiatives. Her career spans over a decade in clean energy, water management, eco-tourism, and waste management. Significant roles include Secretary General of the Indonesian CNG Companies Association (2014-2017) and President Director of Labuan Bajo Flores Tourism Authority (2019-2024), where she led the transformation of Labuan Bajo into a sustainable tourism destination.
What made you apply for the EMSBE and how did the scholarship impact your decision?
I was very excited when I first learned about the EMSBE program because the curriculum felt practical, grounded, and highly relevant. When the scholarship opportunity was announced, I applied immediately, believing that EMSBE would significantly support the growth and expansion of my social enterprise. The scholarship became a deciding factor—it enabled me to access this world-class program without financial barriers.
I was extremely grateful for what I considered a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. As soon as I received the news, I prepared everything seriously—documents, mindset, and time management—to fully optimize my learning journey at ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳.
As a scholarship holder, what has been your experience on the programme from an academic, professional and personal point of view?
This program is truly unique. The lecturers are high-caliber and deeply experienced in their fields, and the cohort brings diverse perspectives that enrich every discussion. Many real-world challenges I face in the field became relevant and engaging case studies in class. The global references and latest insights in the social business landscape are incredibly comprehensive and up-to-date. Although the program lasted only one year, it laid a strong foundation for the next leap in my professional journey.

What advice do you have for someone considering applying for the EMSBE and the scholarship?
If you're passionate about building or scaling a social enterprise, EMSBE is the right place to be. The combination of practical tools and solid academic knowledge helps shape wiser decision-making—especially in today’s fast-changing, VUCA world. The scholarship opens the door for more changemakers to grow and contribute on a larger scale.
What are you doing now and how has the EMSBE supported your professional journey?
I currently run a social enterprise focusing on sustainable development and community empowerment. EMSBE helped me refine our business structure, sharpen our strategy, and explore new opportunities for international collaboration. The alumni network and global connections have become invaluable assets as we continue to grow our impact.
