ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ Library offers a range of events and resources which are relevant to primary school pupils.
Workshops
The ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ Library team runs free Exploring the Archives workshops for groups of primary school pupils in key stage 2. During the sessions, pupils will discover what an archive is, what an archivist does, and how to analyse primary sources. Each session takes place on the ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ campus and includes opportunities to analyse primary sources as a class and in small groups, a visit to the archive storeroom and a hands-on creative activity.
Lesson resources for teachers
The ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ Library team have developed lesson plans, worksheets and resources on two topics, aimed at primary school pupils in key stage 2:
.
ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ Festival events
Our annual ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ Festival, which usually takes place each June, also has a children and families day as part of the programme, where we welcome members of our local communities onto campus for interactive workshops, talks and sessions.
ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ School Governor Scheme for staff and alumni
ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ runs a School Governor Scheme to support members of our staff and alumni communities who are already school governors or who are interested in finding out more about what it involves. We provide information sessions and advice to help prospective school governors understand more about the role and register their interest to find a suitable volunteer opportunity. If your primary school is looking for governors, you can register these vacancies on the website.
